Do you think this new White House study on healthcare and small business is politically motivated?

Seems like this is the type of study you would have produced BEFORE everybody thought your healthcare plan was garbage. Now it just seems like their pulling numbers out of their a$$es to try to save face. (and maybe a few points in the polls)

WASHINGTON 鈥?President Barack Obama, citing a new White House study suggesting that small businesses pay far more per employee for health insurance than big companies, said Saturday the disparity is %26quot;unsustainable 鈥?it's unacceptable.%26quot;

%26quot;And it's going to change when I sign health insurance reform into law,%26quot; the president said in his weekly Internet and radio address.

A new study by the White House Council of Economic Advisers said small businesses pay up to 18 percent more to provide health insurance for their employees. As a result, fewer of them do so and the number has been shrinking further in these hard economic times.

It was released Saturday as part of the administration's aggressive campaign to build public and congressional support for Obama's health care efforts

No. First of all, Obama wants to make insurance more available to all. And change the system so that it is cheaper, and also so that the insurance companies find it harder to get out of paying for treatment. The system he is proposing looks similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland where private companies are involved in providing insurance.

Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well.

Third, Obama campaigned on reforming the healthcare system. He said he wanted to make insurance more available and he was elected by the American people to do this.

FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.

FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.

That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

Heres a number:

My family's business has $1,000,000 in payroll. We lose $100,000 a year, but eat it to provide jobs for others.

And are about to get an additonal $90,000 a year in losses.

Businesses are about to start closing....left and right.
It is Amazing how they spin this.

I really would like someone to explain to me, how Fining a Small Business that does not offer health insurance is going to %26quot;help%26quot; them?

The only ones being helped here, is the Government %26quot;helping%26quot; themselves by Confiscating More Money!
No, its motivated by those are paying gobs more than they should and those who can't afford it and those who are kicked off of healthcare policies for absurd reasons. People are dying because they can't afford healthcare.
It's Wax-losi politics. No shortage of unethical moves made to ram extremist legislature through before people can protest too much. Aggressive campaign indeed.
They are really pressing hard to twist facts around now, so they must be getting desperate. The problem consistently has been that Obama won't reference any facts or figures for exactly how much his plan would save businesses and exactly how it would do it. The problem is that it can't. Yes it will get more people covered, but he's taxing small businesses (or rather the owners of them) in order to pay for the plan. Any benefits in coverage will be minimal compared to the loss of jobs.

Why not instead just try reforming health care instead of trying to shove a government controlled plan down our throats. Reform does not have to me total government administration and control. That's where the high costs and overall loss of coverage quality and loss of jobs will come from.. government overheat and government corruption.
Anything that comes from the White House is politically motivated.
