Develop a list of industries that the Internet has transformed. What are the reasons behind the changes? How d?

Develop a list of industries that the Internet has transformed. What are the reasons behind the changes? How do you anticipate that technology will transform business in the future?|||We are not getting credit for this class. do your own homework.|||Its not a hard discussion question to answer but if you are having trouble and don%26#039;t understand, simply email your instructor and Im sure they can assist you. I%26#039;m currently in the same class.|||If you are attending strayer university on-line, I am to. I have the questions we must be in the same class. how funny, good luck on answering the question.

Technologies change a business?

How might the Internet and related communication technologies change a business?|||One word: exposure

If they know about you, they can give you business.

Which plan is better ,Thinking of changing my internet plan would liuke your opinion?

All plans are ADSL2+ %26amp; all cost no extra if you go over the limit but you are slowed down to dial up rates.

The plan I am on 150GB per month 40 peak %26amp; 110 off peak ,this is what worries me Download only counted.Cost 69.99 per mth

Plans I am thinking about

1. 180GB plan , 90GB peak %26amp; 90 off peak $49.99 per mth but Downloads %26amp; uploads counted

2. 200GB plan ,100 peak %26amp; 100 off peak. $69.99 per mth but Downloads only counted.

3. 500GB plan , 150 peak %26amp; 350 GB off peak. $59.99 per mth but Downloads %26amp; uploads counted.

The plan I am on know usually lasts me the full month but not always.

The off peak times are so late %26amp; I would hardly use the computer at that time.

With the plans with Downloads %26amp; uploads counted it worries me a little but I do not do P2P file sharing , I mainly use the computer for business , sending %26amp; receiving emails , some time on this site %26amp; a small amount of IM %26amp; rarely of skype phone calls.

Would I be better of just to pay $75.00 per month %26amp; just get totally unlimited ?

Your advice would be most welcome %26amp; thank you in advance.|||I don%26#039;t know the best answer.

Firstly is it the same company ?

Are you off contract ?

If you are off contract then I would try the cheapest option for a month or two %26amp; see how it goes.

Most company%26#039;s will let you change to a more expensive plan if you upgrade even if on contract , you may get problems if you start on a higher plan %26amp; want to down size.

Give it the taste test , suck it %26amp; see.|||Personally, I have and would chose again, to take the $75/month plan and have unlimited access. Otherwise you will be pay extra for every little thing a cheaper plan may offer but not cover, and it quickly adds up to far more than a one-price-for-everything plan.

I%26#039;ve had many cell phone plans, even a regular phone in my car before there were cell phones, and the one price covering everything ended up be the least expensive. However, that is my experience, and some may disagree.|||I have found the unlimited to be cheaper. I don%26#039;t like surprises at the end of the month, so I cut to the bottom line when shopping for internet or cell service. You know what you are getting and the total cost. That is just me.|||Try find something that will match your business then use that.

I don%26#039;t know which it suitable for you but what best for your business and yourself.|||I don%26#039;t know the best answer.

How does GDP and unemployment change during a business cycle? (10 pts!!)?

I%26#039;m trying to write an essay about how unemployment and GDP both change during a business cycle, and I can%26#039;t find anything on the internet to help me understand this topic! lol. Can anyone help me, maybe give me a link to a good website or tell me what you know about this? plzzzz :)|||During a business cycle, that%26#039;s when there%26#039;s a re election coming soon or something like that, if an economy is in a recession (which means high unemployment), government will increase spending. The intuition behind this is: as the government increases spending there will be an increase for the demand for goods. As the demand for goods increases unemployment will decrease (because more labor is needed to meet demand for goods.) Another channel is as the demand for goods increases, output increases which increases GDP overall.

What are good sources to network in the Internet / New Media Industry?

I am looking to change industries (from the business side of high-tech to the business side of New Media / Internet).

I don%26#039;t have contacts in the industry, and would like to network a bit before blindly sending out my resume.

Are there resources, websites, communities, blogs, etc (I live in New York City if there happens to be something locally pertinent) that I can explore to find what I%26#039;m looking for?

Thanks

Stay at home and profitable business?

I need to make a change in what I do. I see all these stay at home jobs and internet million dollar businesses that make you skeptical. I understand an investment will need to be made, but is there actually a good stay at home business that won%26#039;t rob you blind?|||Despite what some say, there are legitimate home businesses out there. Whatever you find, make sure you check out the company and know exactly what you%26#039;ll be doing. You%26#039;re right about the investment, but don%26#039;t give up your life savings or anything to get into something. And don%26#039;t fall for anyone telling you that you%26#039;ll get rich quick. That was a big red flag for me. The one I found had great credentials and costs less than $50 to start, so I figured I was pretty safe at least give it a shot. And, I love what I do. Four years later, I鈥檓 still doing the same business, working around my 2 teens and 2 preschoolers and am able to make enough income to pay the bills when my husband is laid off from his construction job for the winter. So, they are out there, just take your time and ask questions, you鈥檒l find the right fit. Feel free to e-mail me if you have more questions. |||I know what you mean about all the business%26#039;s it is hard to know which to trust, I have opened a child care and it was doing well until just recently. Many of my parents have either lost jobs or have had hours cut. I even had a parent that was not making ends meet with her current job and had to leave the city and move in with her parents. It is still a good career move though and I am happier than I have been in a long time. It allows me the luxury of staying home and keeping my house clean. Dinner is always home cooked and on the table ( this has also helped me loose weight, no more fast food) and I can care for my grand kids here and know that they are safe. It was a win win for me. If this might be something that you ar interested in I highly recommend it.

Good Luck :)

I recently visited a website, and I read a rousing endorsement from a 73 year old lady about a particular website company. I was skeptical, but I purchased the product, mainly because it has a money - back gaurantee.

I must say, it is even better than what the elderly lady says. The price you pay is very low for what you get in return. I strongly recommend this company.

I have a lot of good info for you. I am a mother of two little girls who are actually tugging on my arm as I write this so I will try to be brief. Many people are looking for work from home companies. All the scams definitely create a big problem but also, there is a problem of people misunderstanding the difference between work from home %26quot;jobs%26quot; and work from home opportunities. There really are not work from home “jobs”. To get that you have to start working for a company in their offices first, then they MAY allow you to take the job home.

Most of the work from home opportunities that are legitimate offers are not an hourly pay type job. They are business opportunities that help you in starting your own business from your home.

What you should do first is to decide if you are simply looking for an hourly rate type job or if you are looking for more of an opportunity for additional income such as what you would make in your own business being your own boss from home. Many say a JOB stands for Just Over Broker and I have found that to be true as well. I never got anywhere working for others.

Small home businesses have some small costs involved, less then $100 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $300, $500 even some asking for $1000-$5000. It doesn’t cost that much to start and run a home business so you shouldn’t pay it. The real ones will have a small monthly overhead as well. Should be around $50 a month but no more then $75. And everything should be included from your web sites to training and team support to back office accounting and booking. It’s ok to pay this overhead because it’s a business, they cost money. It’s not reasonable to assume you can run a business from home with a website and more for free so do keep that in mind as you search.

If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are. I tried them many a times and 3 weeks later I had to buy this and 6 weeks later that. After 6 months these “free businesses” had cost me over $800 on average.

I’m a stay at home mom of two little girls as I mentioned, ages 1 and 3. I work about 15-18 hours per week for a National Medical Benefits Company. This is a home business, a nationally known and reputable home business which is what you need to make sure you are looking for. I have been with the company almost a year now and I make over $2000 a month! In your first month, depending on how many hours you can work, I have seen people make anywhere from $300 to over $3000. And your income will increase each month because we get paid residual income as well. If I continue on as I am going at the end of the year I will be making $5000 a month. My friend Becky from South Carolina started 2 years before me and she is now making $95,000 a year with this company.

The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit, life insurance and a benefits package most of which you get from day one. In addition, there are no products, no hard selling or pushing, no cold calling, no home parties and no telemarketing! That was VERY important to me.

I absolutely love working with them and I can%26#039;t believe I am making what I am making and in so few hours per week. The neat thing is there are other people on your team that you work with so you are never alone. You have great team support and you get to know the other people on your team pretty well. The support is great but I have made wonderful friends as well. I think that’s important too, especially being at home!

I was a bit apprehensive at first because I know a lot of companies are not legit but this company is the number one National Medical Benefits Company in the US. They are a member of the US Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Dental Plans and the owner of the company actually sits on the board of The Consumer Health Alliance to which we are also members. Also they were featured in “The New York Times”, “Wall Street Journal” “Time Magazine” and the “American Medical Review”. Even “60 Minutes” with Morley Safer did a big special on this home based business.

Even more then all this is they are accepted at over 100,000 retailers nation wide. These are fortune 500 companies like Sears, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Wal-mart, Publix and more. These companies would never work with a company that was any thing less then reputable. That made me feel very good about working with them knowing they were accepted at these stores that I frequent. Also now of course being with them I get the dental and vision benefits for free and I saved over $150 on my last visit to the dentist! That’s just a beautiful perk! : - )

When I first started I just felt very safe with them, that and my friend was already making so much money with Ameriplan. But at this point I feel a sense of security financially that our family has never had before. That plus LOVING what you do? What could be better?

Check them out! Just type in www.workathomeplus.net in your web browser.

Influence of internet in the business environment?

What influence does the internet have in relation to business environment in the last ten years which created changes in India

How it has changed lives esp in relation to the business 鈥s it a negative or a positive influence?|||both-negative as well as positive.|||it is useful just for business communication. My brother is getting into my Internet business... remotely... Help!?

Ok... well... it seems that my brother has figured out how to get into my stuff.

I am not sure which of the following he can do but i know he can do at least one of them

Read my IMs

Get into my files (fixing this by installing TC)

See what websites i%26#039;m on.

Read my IRC chat

...something...

Where as... i don%26#039;t really have anything bad that I%26#039;m doing, i certainly DO have personal things, and conversations. I don%26#039;t want him in anything of mine.

we have AT%26amp;T for our internet service provider. (we both have the password and can change settings and such)

We have different computers, he has XP, and i have vista home.

He has been figuring out how to get into things sense he first got his hands on a win 98 computer... %26gt;.%26lt; Don%26#039;t rule something out because it sounds like it may be too hard... Though... don%26#039;t be ridiculous... he%26#039;s not CIA FBI Level xD

i don%26#039;t know how he%26#039;s doing it, but any advise or suggestion on how to get it to stop would be GREATLY appreciated.|||He may have installed a keylogger, this would give him all your passwords, and then he could check all chat logs, IM%26#039;s, etc. Some are undetectable, but most are not. Standalone firewall Vs. built into Internet router?

A few firewall questions. Just changed our business Internet service to Comcast and have their SMC8013WG-CCR router. It has a built in firewall to handle packet inspection, NAT, and port forwarding. My question is for a small office (~25 pcs) with one file server, what would be the advantage (if any) of disabling the router%26#039;s firewall and implementing a hardware firewall such as the Sonicwall TZ-150?

Second question- with the router%26#039;s firewall turned on what is the advantage of running the software firewall built into XP? Would the need to run the XP firewall change if we implement a dedicated hardware firewall, are people running both in a small office environment?

Thanks.|||the first question is a matter of preference, I work at a company where we handle sensitive information so we don%26#039;t trust the firewall built into our router. I still run the software firewall built into XP, its better to have 2. It might break some of your file sharing or network applications but then you can open the ports that are needed. Windows XP%26#039;s built in firewall only blocks incoming connections.

my philosophy is this, turn on the higher settings and then grant exemptions as they are needed.

Where can we find on the Internet some petitions to sign,in every country, against the fur business ?

Negative impacts of the internet on travel agencies?

However, agents are quite useful in couple of occasions:

- in times of unforeseen obstacles like delays and missing the flight

- optimizing the travel route and connections (you can do it by yourself but professional and knowledgeable person will do it faster and maybe better)

- contacting with human (talk over the phone or meet in person) rather than with machine (website) is preferred by some people

I%26#039;m in need of factual info, statistics, ANYTHING supporting this idea. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.|||well this is based on a lot variables. if you were to have a page about your pet fish and have two visitors a month, changing the content daily, weekly, or monthly won%26#039;t have much effect and bring in thousands of new visitors. conversely, if you have a popular website visited by millions and continually change the website%26#039;s core format you risk alienating returning visitors. people like simple websites and consistency within websites, if you only update the information and news then there%26#039;s no problem, but tampering with the style and format can anger or confuse your user base. obviously, returning people expect fresh information on a variable basis so it%26#039;s very important you update periodically. none of this is cited or sourced or very helpful, so good luck getting your information|||hence the phrase %26quot;content is king%26quot;|||entireweb.com and their newsletter http://entireweb.com/newsletter/

Network Marketing Or Internet Marketing--What do you feel is the best way to build a Direct Sales business?

I have been in the Direct Selling Industry for over 14 years. With the rise of the social web, I have noticed a change in the way people do business. I am looking at launching a new business in my area and wondering if women are still into home parties? Do you like to shop on-line or at a friend%26#039;s house? If you are a direct selling rep feel free to give your opinion. Thanks so much for your help!|||Hi there I have been in network marketing for 6 years with little to no success, I didn%26#039;t relies until last Year that the industry has changed today people dont wanna get into MLM because they dont want to do cold calling or selling ...but this is not the end

last year in Nov 2007 i discover that to be successful in MLM you need to learn how to use web2.0 to market yourself and get targeted leads into your business I was bumped into mlmgoldmine its not a network marketing its a online school that teach mlms how to use web2.0 to get targeted leads into your mlm

for me I decided to quit my MLM and iam using web2.0 to market as an affiliate, by the way mlmgoldmine colse to public in march 2008 but last month they re-open the door and they only accept people to join after they pass the online interview survey , if you are keen I highly recommended you to go to their website and watch one of their training video , I left a link below for your references

hope this help

|||Well you are right, the internet has changed everything. I have done MLM strictly over the internet and I have done quite well. Of course your client bas in most cases is everyone in the world.

In the last year I have left MLM to get into affiliate marketing. This has worked so much better for me because for the most part I make my money with my marketing. I dont worry about recruiting. While I do recruit a bit that only accounts for about 5 percent of my income and I really dont lose sleep over bringing new people on board.

It is still very hard work but also very rewarding. I definately choose affiliate marketing over network marketing.|||I have been in Direct Sales for 8 years . . . it%26#039;s an incredible life! I just switched companies (I went from a party plan company where my team did 1.5 million dollars in sales a year) to a MLM company for a few reasons. I think party plans are on the way out . . . with the economy the way it is it%26#039;s hard to find people who want to have people over and feel obligated to buy things. I was also tired of driving all over the place and using gas money for crappy parties :-) What I am doing now is considered Direct Sales too but I found something unique to the market and you basically work with your direct circle of influence (friends, family, neighbors) and it grows from there. It%26#039;s a lot less pressure and hardly any out of pocket expenses. It%26#039;s been an adjustment going from $10,000 a month paychecks to %26quot;starting over%26quot;, but the company is about 6 months old and absolutely exploding. It is done mainly by word of mouth and then over the web. That%26#039;s my two cents! I%26#039;d love to network with you . . what type of business are you looking at launching? You can email me!! Thanks.|||Hey MLM mom,

How about a combination of both?

I%26#039;ve been affiliate/internet marketing since 2001. Last year, I became involved with Beachbody, a network marketing company. At first, it was as a customer. I tried their P90X extreme home workout program with Tony Horton. I saw the infomercial running daily on TV and though I would give it a try. I soon lost a ton of weight and got absolutely ripped in 90 days!

After that, I decided to become involved in their coaching program. Currently, I have thousands of clients across the country. I have done a number of MLMs in the past, all to my dismay except for one. That one was (is) XanGo. It is the only one I have ever turned a profit with. However I am optimistic I will do well with a new one I just signed up with. It is actually in its pre-launch right now and you can get in at the very top before the product shipping kicks off next month. If you want to be in at the top and representing a product that is quickly gaining much notoriety in the health and wellness industry, this may be for you. It is an A莽ai product but with a much higher ORAC rating than other A莽ai products on the market. Also it has the most aggressive compensation plan I have ever seen in a MLM. Commissions are paid 9 levels on a 3x9 matrix just for being an active distributer. There are NO volume or growth criteria that have to be met in order to get commissions your entire 9 levels. Secondly it is only $14 dollars

to become a distributer. If this sounds like something that would intrest you, please send me an e-mail for more information edriczaruba@verizon.net

Best regards:

Edric Zaruba|||I am just getting into it.

My business model is to use the web to network market my MLM. Actually I think one of the tree I am getting into is not exactly MLM since it is a different payment model than traditional network marketing.

However, that being said, everyone says do it the traditional way of going up to people.

Here is my rule of thumb.

Make a list of friends and family. Never, never, never pitch them or even tell them about your business opportunity unless they pry out of you what your doing.

Only pitch to people who are already business people (in the case of my model, sales professionals since it is mostly about selling).

Next, I am building a web site and a squeeze page to help prospects find me. My requirement to join my team...they will have to find at least two people to sign up under them. This kinda makes them be successful prior to joining. (Just an idea, don%26#039;t know how well it will work. I am up to 7 interested people and I have not joined yet)

For those who do join under me, I will put the next sign-ups under them. This will only last for a while as once the organization gets so big, it will not be possible.

This is using both models.

It seems there are a few already doing just this.

Have not yet joined. Plan to soon. I am getting a lot of resistance when it comes to change. I suspect you will too.

Best wishes.

It actually kind of sucks, I am so busy working and running around doing other chores that I don%26#039;t have time for the jobs I used to fit in. It hasn%26#039;t made my life less busy, it has given me more time to do more work...and man am I tired.|||I got fatter|||The internet for sure has changed the way I looked at life. Previously, after 10 or more of education, what was taught to me was that I should hold a regular job with a stable income. I was never taught that number of hours sacrificed should never be equated with one%26#039;s financial status. In other words, I have dropped the idea that drawing a higher pay means having to put in more hours of work. Well, that%26#039;s still what most people believe in. Internet business has enabled me to bring free from this %26quot;silly%26quot; mindset.

However, if you think that the internet is quick get-rich tool. You are wrong as well. Internet business is never like what the websites promise you. Just remember that whatever that promises alot is most probably a scam. Please do take the internet business as a real business which requires hard work and much devoted time. I can only say that the advantage that an internet business has over a traditional business is the savings in costs. You do not need as much as what you would need in a traditional business. Domain and web hosting, plus your autoresponder account cost at most US$50 a month or lessor.

Frankly, you should start off first with an affiliate program. The most obvious advantage is that you do not have to worry about getting your product. However, if you are still not aware of what an intenet business is all about. Basically, it invovles selling your own products over the net or through selling other people%26#039;s products. The latter is known as affiliate marketing.

There is a very effective system to building up a great, hot-selling affiliate system. The system goes this way : 1) Identify some profitable or hot affiliate items on the net. 2) Create your website and make an offer, and lastly 3) focus on driving traffic to your website. These are the basic three steps. This should also be your blueprint to any internet business that you are going to start. Don%26#039;t be too eager to plunge into internet businesses that promise too much at too soon a time. Instead, learn from the world%26#039;s best affiliate or internet marketers who are sincerely helping newbies.

How the Internet changes the way businesses compete.?

it changes it so much that in the future there will be no advertisment on tv, radio etc, because the internet provides targeted advertisement, which is much better and more cost effective|||you may get the answer at the following source

What is my legal responsibility to remove business listings from internet after selling home?

Sold my house. Did change of address. Contacted suppliers for my home business of new address. New owner harassing that when he googles the address my business name still appears linked to the address. Tried to contact these web sites/businesses (trying to be nice) and cant get through to some of them. They are fly by nights or spammers. Do I have any legal obligations?|||no you have no legal obligation unless you agreed to something in purchase agreement. you deeded property to buyer as promised.

My business is retail via internet in USA. I would like to move back to Italy and I am an Italian citizen.?

My business (inc) is jewelry retail 100% via internet in USA. I would like to move back to Italy since I am Italian citizen. I would like to do production in Italy ans ship from Italy to USA instead from USA to USA.

So I can keep all my hard earned USA customers. Basically nothing will change to my customers, just the origin to the packages.|||There are a few things you will need to consider.

The cost of delivery going up.

A reliable delivery service.

The shipping from out of the country may be a problem for some American customers who prefer supporting the domestic market.

But theres no better place than home :)|||Shipping retail across borders is subject to unexpected delays, and of course there can be duties to be paid, and your customers will have to deal with customs agency if you do not get that well handled.

It can be useful to have an agent in USA who receives all your shipments, deals with customs, ships to customers, and remits money to you in Italy.

Even the need to make exchange from USD to Euro for each transaction will cost you, so better to have once daily remittance if possible.

How has the internet changed the way businesses advertise?

because if you wanted to reach the amount of clients worldwide that the Internet reaches it would cost you a fortune and you had to be a big business, but thanks to the Internet even the small home based business can advertise and do business all over the world at next to nothing.

How might the internet and related communication technologies change your small retail business?

Here are some ways in which Internet and Communications technologies can change your small business.

Catalog flexibility and Online fast updating

Direct %26quot;link%26quot; capabilities to content information and visual displays already existing on other client web site. You can update your E-Catalog anytime, whether it%26#039;s adding new products, or adjusting prices, without the expense and time of a traditional print catalog.

Extensive search capabilities by item, corporate name, division name, location, manufacturer, partner, price or any other specified need.

Shrinks the Competition Gap: Reduced marketing/advertising expenses, compete on equal footing with much bigger companies; easily compete on quality, price, and availability.

Expanded Market Place and Business Access Which Extend Customer Base: The Internet gives customers the opportunity to browse and shop at their convenience and at their place. They can access your services from home, office, or on the road, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Internet allows you to reach people around the world, offering your products to a global customer base.

A 24 Hour Store Reduced Sale Cycle: reduce unnecessary phone calls and mailings.

Lower Cost of Doing Business: Reduce inventory, employees, purchasing costs, order processing costs associated with faxing, phone calls, and data entry, and even eliminate physical stores. Reduce transaction costs.

Eliminate Middlemen: Sell directly to your customers.

Easier Business Administration: With right software, store inventory levels, shipping and receiving logs, and other business administration tasks can be automatically stored, categorized and updated in real-time, and accessed on demand.

Frees Your Staff: Reduce customer service and sales support. Customers will love it

Gives customers control of sales process. Builds loyalty.

More Efficient Business Relationships: etter way to deal with dealers and suppliers.

Workflow automation: Shipping, real time inventory accounting system which adjusts stock levels and site, location availability instantaneously . Secured, automated registration verification, account entry and transaction authorization features

Automated RFP and RTQ features for vendor bid development and selection.

Banking and accounting features customized for pre-approved third party direct sales, vendor, consignment or internal transfer transactions.

Secure Payment Systems: Recent advancements in payment technologies allow encrypted, secure payment online.

Keep in mind that the only limit is your imagination and creativity as to how Internet and communication technologies can be used.

Internet change the record business?

The internet changed it by

1) increasing media fame

2) lower record profits.

With %26quot;file-sharing%26quot; people are able to acquire things without having to pay a cent. Therefore the record company loses profit, because people would rather download the song that to buy it.

But in the other hand, the song the record business tries to promote will be really well-known in the internet. But in return, people would find this song, and download it as well.

Basically, the internet made Record Business lose money.|||Please elaborate.|||Aside from the extra promotional opportunities and additional opportunities to sell product, the Internet hasn%26#039;t made any difference.

What has made some artists think seriously about giving up is the obsession with some teens for free downloading. These people don%26#039;t seem to realize that singing/recording is the artist%26#039;s %26quot;job%26quot; and he/she does not do it for fun. It is his/her living. He/she is legally entitled to earn royalties from downloads because that represents a sale. Legal download sites pay mandatory fees for the legal right to handle the music and part of these fees get back to the artist. P2p sites pay no fees and so their downloads are not only illegal for that alone, but the artist is being robbed with each %26quot;free%26quot; download of his/her music

Identify 3 ways in which the internet has changed the nature of work, interpliers/business practices.?

-Eliminated hundreds of thousands of tons of paper waste each year

-The ability to inform a customer about products, then sell those products with little or no human intervention (make more money, spend less to do it)

-Tools like %26quot;babelfish.altavista.com%26quot; have minimized the difficulties of language working with international businesses.

-Improved the ability to network and collaborate with co-workers and technical communities

-Created a means of direct interaction with customers for understanding thier needs and wants, and addressing thier problems. (Company blogs and discussion forums, Dell and Apple are good examples).

What are the consequences of not having Product Liability Business Insurance?

It seems impossible to get relevant and specific business insurance for the things that really matter - particularly product liability. I have an internet business selling a very wide variety of products/gifts online. My business evidenly does not conform to the criteria that insurers feel are a %26quot;nice safe money making bet%26quot; for themselves. I work from home until the business is bigger, it sells more than one type of product (not just gadgets/electrical items or clothing etc). A lot of the products are handmade or exlusive. I sell to NAmerica as well as Europe and UK. All of this means I can%26#039;t get proper prod liablty insrnce cover. So if I can%26#039;t get insurance, what happens it I continue without it? I have tried so hard over the past year and it just seems impossible, I am not prepared to totally change the business to suite some insurance company, or spend thousands buying a useless policy that covers irrelevant bits when product liability isn%26#039;t being covered. What can I do?|||Get Insured or become a Limited Liability company otherwise you risk losing absolutely everything!

If you are merely a middle man and do not touch the product there is very little responsibility on your part and your insurance company will charge a low (distributor%26#039;s) rate.

There is an exception to this rule. If you are importing products from other countries the insurance company will charge you a much higher (manufacturer%26#039;s) rate.

The reason is: the insurance company feels they have little opportunity of recouping any losses they incur when they sue an overseas manufacturer (due to uncertainty about foreign systems of jurisprudence)

Underwriters have alot of leeway in the rates they charge for Products Liability (this is called %26quot;a%26quot; rating) and you should deal with an insurance broker who understands this.

Seperate the receipts you derive from domestically manufactured products from the receipts derived from imported products.

Get Certificates of Insurance from the manufacturers and distributors with whom you deal.

The insurance company will feel most comfortable with the products that are manufactured in this country by companies that have Products Liability Coverage as they will go after them to recoup any money they spend defending you against suits.

I hope this information saves you money

Dave|||since you are currently out of your home. Inform your agent of the business and he can place a rider to your policy to cover lost product as well as liability.

When you more to a storefront then there are several types of policies to cover the issues you wish to address.|||Here%26#039;s the problem: handmade goods. No insurance company in the world is going to want to insure your product liability unless you have a safe Quality Assurance company like Six Sigma. All of the other products should be covered by their manufacturers. Anyway, there%26#039;s no way you can afford an in-depth QA program. The reason companies have product liability insurance (and nearly 99% don%26#039;t) is to cover themselves in case of that big lawsuit. A lawsuit from a different country can be avoided. If all of your sales are made online, then make the buyer agree to the terms and conditions, which should read %26quot;All grievances will be settled by arbitration within the courts of the state of Arkansas (or wherever you live). Because somebody can%26#039;t serve you and force you to leave your home for arbitration, they must come to you. This filters out all of the nobodies looking for a quick buck (like that woman that found the finger in chili at Wendy%26#039;s).

Next. The worst that can happen if your business is a sole proprietorship is you lose everything you own. This will only happen if your product is a hazard and you had good reason to know about it. If you set up your company as a corporation, you can only lose the assets of the corporation and then claim bankruptcy once the company is broke. Honestly, I think your safest bet is to create two separate corporations. One is an Internet business that sells merchandise. The other is a small assembling, craft, or manufacturing company that makes handmade goods. If it ever comes to a head, the craft company loses in arbitration, but your core business doesn%26#039;t. You should keep any computers under the Internet company, and any tools under the craft company.

Having two companies can be a hassle. You will have to have two separate accounting ledgers, have different tax IDs, pay two separate business fees at all applicable levels. But all of these are relatively cheap compared to what you%26#039;d be paying to an insurance company if they accepted you.|||Well, if you don%26#039;t and someone does get hurt from a product that you sell, they can sue you. If you loose, then the $$ will come out of your pocket. I hope you have your business set up as a C-corp or S-Corp. This will at least help to protect some of your personal assets from any lawsuit.

The way I understand it, is the Big companies want to keep the network (backbone) as an unregulated entity. This will allow them to charge enough fee%26#039;s to maintain and grow the network. This is a extremely expensive highway to maintain and grow. What the ISP%26#039;s want is to regulate the backbone so THEY can be the ones getting all the profits. What is the changes in business activities by internet?

Absolutely the internet has brought a revolution in business today. Online services are ruling the business and making it easy and effective than before. Without entering the stores, customers are conducting online shopping unlike the past days, where customers were going to stores in persons to get the things home. Being a small business owner, what are the advantages of having the internet or related communication?

I am a small gift basket owner and I am just wondering how might the Internet and related communication technologies change my business for the better? What are the ways these can improve my productivity and performance of my business?|||Well using the Internet allows you have a broader network of potential customers. Especially at different ages groups. One method you can use for advertising is sending a ad via email and ask that it be passed on to at least ten other people and they will receive a discount. Sky is the limit.|||I am not a business owner nor do I know a lot about your particular situation/business, BUT...I can tell you one example from an experience I%26#039;ve had.

At the beginning of October, I was looking online for pumpkin patches in the area that were so commercialized/overpriced. I mean, obviously the bigger ones advertise all over the place and those we knew about.

Well, I found the neatest patch that someone had on their land and made it into a small business. Other than some local signs put up around the immediate area (and not all over the city). We went out there...having NEVER heard of them before....and were very pleased with our experience. They were very reasonable...very clean...very nice and PERFECT for what we were looking for.

When I told them I found them on the internet (they had a website), the wife said to her husband %26quot;SEE!!! I told you that website would help!!!%26quot;.

SO.....there is one example. Those people would%26#039;n%26#039;t have had my business (and who knows how many others%26#039;!) if they hadn%26#039;t had a website. The internet reaches MILLIONS of people.

Maybe you will find someone out of town that wants to send a gift to someone that lives in your area....they may find you online...call....and order! There you are!

Does change of residence require new business license for an internet-based business?

If I obtain a business license in Arizona (where I currently reside) to operate an internet-based business, will I need a new license when I relocate to New York state, or can I continue to to use my Arizona license?|||First off, none of the states require a business license to operate an internet business -- e.g. selling on eBay, opening your ecommerce store, writing and earning from a blog; or publishing content on the web.

Business license is different from business registration -- and as an internet business, that is most likely what you will need. You register your business in your county if it is a sole proprietor; and you register your business with the state if you are starting an LLC, corporation or partnership

I suggest you check Arizona%26#039;s Department of Commerce Small Business Services Step-by-Step Checklist to help you understand what you will be required to start your online business in AZ

As for changing your residence, it is advisable to move the business with you -- the complexity, however, will depend on the legal structure of your business. Moving a sole proprietorship is easy. If you started a corporation or LLC, you will have to first dissolve the already existing corporation and or LLC re-filing a new corporation in the new state. It is best if you speak with an attorney or accountant to consider your options.|||The business license must always have the current business address. That usually will be issued to you as an address change license and may require small fee. It isn%26#039;t the same as having to start the process as a new license.

How might the internet and related communications change your business?

This %26#039;smells%26#039; like a homework assignment question and you will learn more if you do the required reading and draw your own conclusions.

The best way to do assignments is to form a study group and all put ideas into the %26#039;pot%26#039; which you all use but form your own words.

Don%26#039;t ever copy someone else%26#039;s assignment - tutors and teachers are not that stupid.|||LOL. this is so funny cause the above poster is right!! I just submitted my assignment for that same exact question. My answer is read the chapters assigned..don%26#039;t look here for an answer.

How does the internet change business relationships wiht customers and the customer support process?

It definetly expands business to its customers, and offers a wider reach to different demographs, but in customer support, it can go either way, where your easily attainable or where in some corporations it isn%26#039;t as valued as much. I need a brief report on how businesses have been negatively affected because of the internet?

What effect has the internet had? How can the business compete with the internet? How has the Internet changed business in positive ways?|||Businesses that are not on the Internet suffer from the competition. Those on the Internet have a wider customer base and lower advertising cost and lower overhead because an actual store is not needed. Rather than compete with the Internet, business should get on it.

How is the internet changing the way we do business?

What are the new ways of doing business? Is that good/bad? What are the (dis)advantages?|||I really enjoyed the book %26quot;The World is Flat.%26quot;|||Just read the article in Wired Magazine, called The Long Tail. Then read the book of the same title by Chris Anderson.

It%26#039;s a brave new world!
