When Changing Your Broadband?
If you have finished your contract you can give them notice now.To comply with you new virgin isp.
When Changing Your Broadband?
Hi Sam,

You need to look at the terms of your agreement with BT. If you signed up for one of their special offers you may be on one of their 12 or 18 month contracts. If not then the small print will tell you how much notice you have to give.
You do know that the speed used by ISP's is Mbits not Mbytes

so you are actually only going to get 1.25 Mbytes a second at peak speeds.

Anyways I would suggest telling Virgin at the beginning of the month and have the new one install at the end of the month.
I am affraid to tell you that you will not be happy with virgin either they are just as bad i ditched them and went with talk talk now i have free internet and 拢25 phone bills every month which i think is fantastic.
Your BT Broadband is on your telephone line and your Virgin Broadband will be on the Virgin cable - so you can if you wish keep both or tell BT to discontinue their service once Virgin have completed their work - the 2 are independent of each other.
I wish i could change back to a Virgin
Hi.

I just changed my ISP for the very same reasons you describe.

1- Check your contract.

a) has it expired?

b) Is there still some time to run till the end? [If so you might incur some financial penalty. Check that with BT]

2- Ask BT for your MAC [Migration Authorisation Code] which you will have to pass on to your new ISP.

The process take from 5 day to 10 days -depending on circumstances-

Good luck with your %26quot;project%26quot;

Personally I went over to a little known ISP (recommended by Which magazine: 85% satisfaction) called ZEN.com. I have been with them for 3 months; I am very HAPPY, very satisfied with their services: fast speed, reliability of access, very security conscious, good online %26amp; telephone tech. support with friendly staff .

The other one I investigated was Waitrose with 83% satisfaction rating. It was hard to choose between them.
