In 07 my mom and I hired a company to do repair work on our home. We gave the guy 3750 to re-level, re-skirt and install a new duct system. They came out once and took the skirting off, and the vent covers off then didn't come back for a month. We had cats tear up the insulation and get into the home and use it as a cat box. The electric bills were high because the skirting and insulation gone. They also took our skirting.
After 6 months we requested our money back, but the owner refused. I tried suing him, but because I sued him, not the company I got denied. Hes done this to other people, there's complaints all over the internet. He keeps changing his website also.
I complained to the BBB and the Attorney General in Tarrent County( we live in TX, and I was told I'd have to go to the county his business is in). The AG from Tarrent called me up and told me that they have lots of complaints and is working on a case against this man, he also has a warrant out for his arrest for DUI. He told me that he cant help me but go to the AG in my county. I called them, they told me normally the police has to contact them. I had called the police in 08 and made a report, but I guess they didn't think it was important.
Its been a good 6 more months since I contacted the AG and no ones called me. What do I do? Just let this man get away with what he did to my family and I? He needs to be stopped. He prays on the elderly and the disabled.
Any ideas on what to try? has to much time passed to do anything?

i would call the local news station companies hate bad publicity mayb this will stop other ppl form using them and i would still sue the hell outta them goodluck !!!

I'm really sorry to hear about this. This kind of thing happens all to often. Sounds like you're doing all the right things. Have you tried small claims court yet? Not sure, but you may have 5 years to appeal your case. He looses (which he will) he pays for all court costs. This time sue the company like they said.
Sounds like the jerk takes on side jobs. However if he's working for a company then the company still can be sued. Take them to small claims court.
Keep calling the AG until they do something about the situation. Don't wait for them to call you. You call them at least once a week or every three days if you have to until you get some satisfaction. I hope you get the satisfaction you're looking for.
I know you're going through hell now, but if you ever have to call someone in for repairs NEVER, NEVER give them the full amount up front. Normal thing to do is give them half. Other half when the job is finished and you're satisfied. Don't forget about the guarantee on work done. To my way of thinking it's also best to talk to friends or people you know if the company is reliable. They'll give you a straight answer if they were satisfied with the work done or they will tell you not to deal with the company or person doing the work.
Don't give up until you've used up all your resources. Go after the company and keep and the AG's as.
