How do you group or ungroup a picture copied froman internet site in microsoft word?

I am trying to change the color of letters in a logo for our business to make it more legible on a custom powerpoint slide but it wont let me group or ungroup it. Does anybody know how to get around this and make it available to edit?

If you are working inside Office applications with grouped objects, you can simply right-click the grouped object and select ungroup.

If the picture is in a flattened format such as JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, etc, then the layers have been permanently affixed into a single layer and must be edited in a quality image-editing program manually.

If the picture is layered in a PDF or a source file such as PSD, then Photoshop or another advanced image editing program is the answer to extracting the layers and changing them.
