In my computer connection icon, it's written:
Not Connected, You are currently not connected to any network,
but in fact, i have a dial-up connection and the internet works!
It changes after I download%26amp;install new windows vista updates, but when i connect with wi-fi, the icon works. What happens actually??

A dialup connection connects straight to your computers modem. This is not a network connection. A network connection is considered (by the computer) either a connection via the ethernet port or a connection to a wireless network via a wireless adapter (whether that be through a USB dongle or a wireless PCI card). Dialup will not show up as a network connection unless you have an external modem with an ethernet hookup.
