How do i fix this tech. problem affecting Internet Explorer 8 (Using Vista) due to Data Execution Prevention?

Prior to doing a System Recovery on my lap top this evening (that originally had IE 7 factory installed by the manufacturer) in the past month or two, I downloaded and installed the full version of IE 8, however I've had this problem before where I installed IE 8, and due to Data Execution Prevention, when I opened the web browser window, it would close/quit seconds later. At that time, a technician over the phone showed me how to fix/rectify the problem, and this time around I only have Data Execution Prevention set to essential not all things (Control Panel on Vista (all, not classic view) %26gt; System and Maintenance %26gt; System %26gt; Advanced System Settings %26gt; Advanced %26gt; Performance %26gt; Settings %26gt; Performance Settings %26gt; Data Execution Prevention - which is currently set to %26quot;Turn DEP on for essential Windows programs and services only%26quot; Not: %26quot;Turn DEP on for all programs and services except those I select%26quot;

I had it set to %26quot;essentials%26quot; prior to the system recovery I conducted/did earlier this evening, and IE 8 opened, ran, and functioned ok.

Microsoft is closed for phone support until business hours during the week, which is why I'm asking on here.

My ISP can't help with this query, as it's to do with a Microsoft product/software.

Could it be the Add Ons settings that need to be adjusted/changed in the Internet Options of IE 8?

I always had problems when I installed IE 8 on vista. It works great in the windows 7 but not so good in vista. I would uninstall and just use ie 7 and /or firefox. or you could uninstall it reboot your machine, do all of the windows update then reboot again then reload it. http://mycampushost.com
