How much should I make as a Internet car sales consultant. (Nissan)?

I just started and have not been in car sales in 10 years and I was just taking up space then. I have been in Real Estate and the Mortgage business since 2002. This internet deal seems like a gold mind. To me it's FREE HOT LEADS AVERAGE 4 PER DAY and you pretty much give every car away. Invoice plus a few hundred bucks ON THE INTERNET. I mean the economy sucks and people are bying Nissans like crazy. Mostly people are changing cars for better fuel economy. You for the most part make your money on volume (Units sold). I actually feel like I'm providing a honest service. Hours suck! O well, ya can't have it all.

I did some time in the internet sales department and I hated it. The way that our lead system worked, I would get 3-4 leads per day. But only one in 10 would actually pan out. Leads come from people filling out interst forms on teh manufacturer's site, interest forms on the dealers site, and other lead generation sources.

the problem for the internet rep is that you have no connection to the customer. You give them no compelling reason to buy from you versus the internet rep at Billy Bobs nissan across town. It is almost purely numbers.

So, if your numbers are the strongest, you win. If not, you lose.

with all of that said, there are probably some internet reps who do well. I am more of a face-to-face person, so it did not work for me.

As to how much you can make? Well that all depends ont he pay structure. Its almost a given that every deal will be thin, no margin to speak of. So what is your minimum per car? t

that is so funny you say this because i too am starting as an internet sales consultant. my dad is the general manager of a porsche/audi store in LA and his internet reps do really well and love their jobs. but i guess every dealership is different and some may not like it so much. anyways i think internet is the way to go these days, people hate coming into the dealerships and now find the internet as a better option. the hours do suck though, welcome to the car business right? money to be made though! :)

good luck!!
