I live in Colorado and have an eBay store. What changes do I need to make (if any) to comply with this new regulation? Do I have to collect taxes on ALL my sales because I'm doing business in Colorado or just on the transactions within the state?
I do not have a business license and do not currently collect any taxes, my gross sales are currently less than $200 per month (things have been slow so $200 is on the EXTREME side.)
How does this affect me now and how will it affect me if I obtain a license in the future?

Colorado Internet Retail Tax Bill HB 10 1193 - How will this affect my eBay store?
Unless you are getting an income stream via affiliate marketing with an out-of-state partner such as Amazon.com it won't directly affect you.
The bill, as I interpret it, would make %26quot;click-through%26quot; sales by an out-of-state seller to a CO resident taxable through that seller. Essentially it's trying to establish a CO nexus through the clickable link on your web page.
The principal impact on CO retailers who depend upon this click-stream revenue is that some of the bullies in the market (Amazon for example) have been threatening to cancel their marketing partnerships if the bill becomes law. They have done so in a couple of states with similar laws (Rhode Island and North Carolina) and are trying to whip FUD among CO retailers that they face the same loss of revenue if the bill becomes law.
Several things remain to be settled in the courts. The first of course is whether a link on a web page (particularly one hosted outside of the state) can establish a nexus for sales tax purposes. This will probably wind up in the Supreme Court eventually. Another is the wording of the marketing contracts that allows the partner (Amazon) to cancel the click-stream contract because of a change in state law that makes a previously non-taxable sale subject to CO sales taxes. My gut tells me that that will wind up as a tangle class action suits that make attorneys rich but won't return much to the beneficiaries of the lost revenue streams.

Review my business idea?
Alright, I live in a large city. As far as I have seen, this kind of thing does not exist. Basically, I'm thinking of starting a %26quot;Gaming StarBucks%26quot;. That's the general concept.
People will pay a small charge at the door, such as $10 - $20 for unlimited day's access to our place. It will be a HUGE center. There will be a room for every one of these, except replaced with the latest consoles. All rooms will have four 25%26quot; HDTVs, equipped with four consoles. Each console will have 4 remotes. Rooms can be booked for parties and what not for around $300.

Those are the consoles. Games will be changed by asking a monitor who will change the game in the console. The important thing is the staff will be very friendly and social. Also, can't use Starbucks in any form. You idea has merit, but it needs MUCH more fleshing out before you can decide if it has commercial value.

i am a canadian immigrant for last 3 years, i have a bacherlor's degree, for the last three year i updated my education and completed level 4 of CGA and also finish advance diploma in accounting and information technology.
mean while, i was working as security guard on evenings, night and weekend
now i found a job a job as administrative assistant in %26quot;UPS%26quot; corporate office which is in the other part of town. daily 20 miles drive one way (before i was driving only 10 miles)
this is regular timing job 8.30 am to 5 pm. i have to start from feb 25, 2008.
now apart from driving, this job looks good.
now the difficult part, i got another interview call for a job as internet business analyst and already went through 2nd interview. and this company said they will decide by the end of this month...
now i am in difficult position . as i am fed up with my security job , and i have to start UPS and if i got the the other job which pays more. what should i do.. join UPS or wait ???

Okay, I admit I was naive enough to open an unsolicited e-mail from a known company (Thought it had to do with a job search) and BOOM, I am getting junk mail galore. It seems that even certain job boards will allow some junk to be mailed to you. Can't say I am saavy about using the internet and e-mail yet but I am learning the hard way. I really don't want to change my e-mail account name at this time because I have alot of friends, co-workers and business contacts that e-mail me. Someone said not to even use the %26quot;Unsubscribe%26quot; button. If I just delete them for awhile, will the junk mail slow to a trickle or hopefully, stop?????

Get a Gmail (Google's e-mail) account and have your current e-mail address forwarded to your Gmail account. Gmail's spam filters are extremely effective. Is Comcast 'false advertising' ?
I keep getting promotional letters sent to my business by Comcast. I want to change my internet service provider and add cable tv to my business so i decided to give them a call. turns out they don't even have service on my side of the street. How weak is that?!! I wanted high speed and now I can't get it. ;-( can they be sued for that?? just wonderin'... thanks for reading.

I've always used 'Please advise' in business communications, and I've noticed recently that MS Office products mark it as grammatically incorrect. The suggested change is from advise to advice.
'Please advice' just doesn't sound right to me. I've done some internet research, but couldn't seem to find a definitive answer...
